Martin Brodeur is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender, widely considered one of the greatest to ever play the position.

• Career Team: He played 21 of his 22 NHL seasons with the New Jersey Devils, who drafted him 20th overall in 1990. He wore the iconic number 30.

• NHL Records: Brodeur holds the all-time NHL records for a goaltender in three key categories:

  • Wins (691)

  • Shutouts (125)

  • Games Played (1,266)

• Championships: He led the Devils to three Stanley Cup Championships (1995, 2000, 2003) and won two Olympic Gold Medals with Team Canada (2002, 2010).

• Awards: He won the Vezina Trophy (best goaltender) four times and the Calder Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year) in his first full season (1993–94).

• Legacy: Brodeur was famous for his hybrid butterfly style, his exceptional puck-handling skills (which led the NHL to create the "Brodeur Rule" restricting where goalies can play the puck), and his remarkable longevity and durability in the net. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018.
